First wakeboarding

Yesterday I got out on the river for the first time this year with my boarding "posse", Kraig and Roger. It was awesome. I LOVE being on the river, it's so beautiful. We stick to the Willamette, I know people have gripes about the cleanliness of the water, but I think it's one of the most beautiful places to spend a weekday evening, cruising up and down the river with all the trees and beautiful properties.

Kraig is zen-master of wakeboarding. The guy wasn't in the water 30 seconds and was turning out tricks like he never took a break, yet it was his first time out this season. I wish I could say that his skill rubs off on me. It's nice boarding with guys better than me cause, in theory, I learn faster.

In theory.

Roger here rides goofy. That doesn't mean he sucks at it, he doesn't. Means he leads with his right foot.

From left to right: me.

I've boarded before, but it looks like I have a lot of work to do before I can hang with your posse.

Glad to see you finally got out this year. Saturday made it the fourth time for us (sorry); but I haven't got in the water yet - just the boys. We will be down at Cullaby Lake for Memorial weekend and the water will be warmer there than in the river. So are you boarding with a shorty or no wet suit at all (in your picture) - it was 52.5 F in the Multnomah Channel up by Scappoose on Saturday; still very cold even with a wet suit.

One of DJ's friends was throwing a forward flip off the wake on Saturday - now if he could just land them (looks painful - we have video!).
