Kewl desktop background switcher!

Sheee-oooooot! Da-gum-it this is cool! I've recently started using John Connor's free background switcher at work because I thought it would be fun to have my backgrounds change randomly for me. I went with John's tool because it works with multiple monitors (at work I have 2), and it allows me to schedule background changes at any interval I want (for example every 5 mins, every hour, or just 1x/day). And did I mention it's free??

His latest release, which I just downloaded, is packed with some new and fun ways to display pictures. For example, it will make a screen collage of all your pics on your desktop, like if they were photos on a table top. The sceen shot below is of my desktop. You can see the Taskbar across one of the monitors, and that both monitors have different images on them. Click the image to enlarge it.

Cool? Yes it is. Plus, you can now pull images down from anywhere you want, not just your hard drive. For example, you can hook it up to pull photos from these well-known online photo hosting sites:

  • Flickr
  • Phanfare
  • Smugmug
  • Picasa (Google) web albums
  • Yahoo image search
Download John's background switcher by clicking here! While it is completely free, John is a regular joe (well, 'john') trying to make a buck. So if you enjoy his tool, he has provided a link here to donate via PayPal...
